nature & wildlife gatherings

immersive meet-ups with likeminded people that love green spaces

Some gatherings will be outside the burrough of Melton Mowbray, so, I have created this page separate to the Melton Mowbray District Nature & Wildlife group on Facebook, in respect of the group's rules.

After taking daily jaunts with my camera in the countryside last year, I appreciate the joy that this simple pleasure brings.

In July 2022, I joined the Facebook group named Melton Mowbray District Nature & Wildlife, created by Carole Dent, a neighbour of mine. In the Autumn of 2022 I organised 'get togethers' in the group for members to meet up and immerse in local nature & wildlife.

They were much enjoyed by those that attended, so my intention is to organise more this year.

as the days start to draw out

... it won't be long before the clocks spring forward on 26 March. This brings the opportunity to pick up where we left off in the Autumn. The dates of the gatherings should correlate with seasonality e.g. Prior's Coppice -  Bluebells. Bring yourselves, and for those that love to capture what they see, as I do, bring camera or iPhone, and/or your Binoculars.
